Trans-Europe Pyjama Party
On Friday the 25th of October 2024 we will celebrate a cross-continental silent disco pyjama party – to refocus attention on the missing night train links and the need to decarbonise long-distance transport, also supported by Aterra, Flight Free UK, and Stay Grounded.
While Back-on-Track and Stay Grounded have supported cross-continental sleep-ins before and Aterra has already hosted silent disco events, a cross-continental, synchronised silent disco pyjama party would be a world first. We hope for good vibes, great images and a lot of attention for our demands.
The Silent Disco
How it works:
Participants ideally prepare their mobile phone with the Zeno Radio app (it also works well through the phone browser) tune into a joint channel, and appear at one of the stations below at 19:30 GMT / 20:30 CET / 21:30 EET putting on their pyjama and/or a sleeping eye mask with or without holding a cushion and then to tune into our cross-european danceable music broadcast.
Where would you like to attend?
Please fiIll in this form your contact details for the location where you would like to attend. We will connect you with the flashmob organiser once the location has reached the minimum participant number.
Can’t find a location nearby? Wait for more to come or ask some friends to join – and propose a flashmob at your local station (see next form).
Host your own pyjama party?
Please fill in this form. We will then add the option to our participation form and inform you and your participants once you have reached the minimum participant number.
Please leave also your postal address, so we can send you information leaflets and possibly more campaign gear for distribution.
FAQ
Will there be material available?
The participating organisation will produce different leaflets for different locations. They will contain the same message but might spotlight the local situation. If you are organising an event we can send you a handful of these to the address you provide in the form above.
What kind of music will be played?
We are currently looking for a DJ who could provide us with a pre-mixed playlist of danceable music form all over Europe (like in this Eurodisko spotify playlist one like in Victor Le Masne’s Midnight Radio #1).
Is this legal?
While having a political rally in a station is forbidden in most countries it is of course neither forbidden to wear a pyjama (or a sleeping mask or to carry a cushion) nor to move with the music you silently listen to. So if you don’t want to risk being expelled from the station avoid to appear as a political rally: refrain from carrying signs with political messages (Just showing wished train destinations on a small cardboard was o.k. in past events) from actively distributing leaflets or having someone adressing an audience.
